Not sure about the character but I had a funny story to share with you. Yesterday my husband is watching the US Open on the bedroom TV and as I walk by Stricker sinks a great putt. I said,"In German, Stricker means knitter." My ever quick witted husband reply, "Well he's knitting himself a championship this weekend."

P.S.- It's okay to explore other means of manipulating fiber. Crochet can be benficial too.
